A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be resolved by using anti-spam protection software. It’s also crucial to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

You will be able to set up a catch-all e-mailbox easily if you have a shared hosting plan with our company. The Email Manager in our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-rich, yet surprisingly user-friendly, and it will permit you to enable different features, including the catch-all one, with just a couple of mouse clicks. All the email addresses that you have set up will be shown in alphabetical order in this section and on the right-hand side of each of them you’ll find a mini "Catch-all" symbol. Clicking it once will enable this feature, clicking on it once more will deactivate it. As you can have just one such mailbox per domain, our system will inform you if you already have a different mailbox with this option enabled or if you’ve got activated email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be created with several clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The hosting account will be administered through our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up email addresses with any domain name hosted here. To activate the catch-all option for a certain mailbox, you’ll have to click the button with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Deactivating this functionality can be accomplished in the same manner and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been activated for a certain domain name, you will get a notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or alter any feature automatically.
